- Encourage critical appreciation of creative literature.

2. Course Structure and Marking Scheme
The evaluation consists of an annual board examination (80 marks) and internal assessments (20 marks) for a total of 100 marks.

3. Section-Wise Syllabus Overview
Section A: Reading Comprehension (अपठित बोध) - 14 Marks
- Unseen Prose (गद्यांश): Approximately 250 words. Includes 3 MCQs and 2 Short Answer questions. (7 Marks)
- Unseen Poetry (काव्यांश): Approximately 120 words. Includes 3 MCQs and 2 Short Answer questions. (7 Marks)
Section B: Practical Grammar (व्यावहारिक व्याकरण) - 16 Marks
Note: Students must answer 16 out of 20 provided questions.
- Sentence structure based on composition (रचना के आधार पर वाक्य भेद): (4 Marks)

- Parsing / Word Introduction (पद परिचय): (4 Marks)

- Poetry Section (काव्य खंड - क्षितिज भाग 2): 5 MCQs based on an extract, and 3 subjective questions (out of 4) from prescribed poems. (11 Marks)
- Supplementary Reader (पूरक पाठ्यपुस्तक - कृतिका भाग 2): 2 descriptive questions (out of 3) based on the chapters. (8 Marks)
Section D: Creative Writing (रचनात्मक लेखन) - 20 Marks
- Paragraph Writing (अनुच्छेद लेखन): Writing on contemporary topics based on given cues in ~120 words. (6 Marks)
- Letter Writing (पत्र लेखन): Formal or Informal letter in ~100 words. (5 Marks)
- Resume or Email Writing (स्ववृत्त अथवा ई-मेल लेखन): Writing a resume for a job vacancy OR writing an email on diverse topics in ~80 words. (5 Marks)
- Advertisement or Message Writing (विज्ञापन अथवा संदेश लेखन): Creating an advertisement OR writing a message (festivals, greetings) in ~40 words. (4 Marks)

The internal assessment tests consistent student progress and verbal language abilities.
