What is NEET UG?
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). It serves as the single gateway for admission to undergraduate medical and dental programs across India.
Through NEET UG, students can secure admission in prestigious government and private medical colleges including AIIMS, JIPMER, ESIC Medical Colleges, Armed Forces Medical Colleges, and many other institutions.
NEET has become one of the most competitive examinations in India because it is the only entrance test accepted for MBBS and BDS admissions nationwide.
NEET UG Eligibility Criteria
- Candidate must have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination.
- Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English must be compulsory subjects.
- Minimum age should be 17 years at the time of admission.
- Indian Citizens, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs, and Foreign Nationals can apply.
- Students appearing in Class 12 examinations can also apply.
