1. Preparation Before Application

Before starting the online application, ensure you have the following ready, especially the documents with the specified size and format (which are detailed in the official Information Bulletin for the exam year):

  • Ensure the photographs are recent, with 80% face visibility (including ears) against a white background, and without a cap or goggles.
  • Keep a valid mobile number and email address handy, as all communication will be sent to them.
  • Have your Aadhaar number and Class 10th & 12th academic details ready.



2. Step-by-Step Online Application Process

The application is generally divided into several stages:

Step 1: Online Registration

  1. Visit the official NTA NEET website (look for neet.nta.nic.in or check the NTA website nta.ac.in).
  2. Click on the link for "New Candidate Registration" or "Apply for NEET (UG)".
  3. Read the instructions in the Information Bulletin carefully and confirm.
  4. Fill in the Registration Form with your personal and contact details (Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Mobile Number, Email ID, etc.).
  5. A system-generated Application Number will be generated. Note this down for all future reference.

Step 2: Fill Online Application Form

  1. Login using the generated Application Number and the password you created.
  2. Fill in the detailed application form, including:
    • Personal Details (Nationality, Category, PwBD status, etc.).
    • Educational Details (Class 10, 11, and 12 results/status).
    • Parent's Details.
    • Choice of Question Paper Medium (language).
    • Choice of Examination Cities (in order of preference).

Step 3: Upload Required Documents

  1. Upload the scanned images of your Photographs (Passport and Postcard size), Signature, and Left and Right-hand Fingers & Thumb Impressions as per the specified size and format (JPEG/JPG).
  2. Upload the PDF documents for your Class 10 Certificate, Category Certificate, Address Proof, etc., as applicable and as per the specified size.

Step 4: Pay Application Fees

  1. Pay the required application fee online. The fee amount varies based on the candidate's category (General, OBC-NCL/General-EWS, SC/ST/PwBD/Third Gender).
  2. Payment can typically be made through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.
  3. A processing charge and GST may be applicable in addition to the examination fee.

Step 5: Submit and Download Confirmation Page

  1. After successful payment, a Confirmation Page of your submitted application form will be generated.
  2. Download and print multiple copies of this Confirmation Page. This is the final proof of your application submission and is crucial for future steps like downloading the admit card and counselling.
