The Class 10 Social Science assessment is divided into a board examination (80 Marks) and internal assessment (20 Marks). The syllabus encompasses History, Geography, Political Science, and Economics.

  • Important Events: Jallianwala Bagh, Dandi March.

Geography (3 Marks):

  • Resources & Development: Identify major soil types.
  • Water Resources (Dams): Salal, Bhakra Nangal, Tehri, Rana Pratap Sagar, Sardar Sarovar, Hirakund, Nagarjuna Sagar, Tungabhadra.
  • Agriculture: Major areas of Rice and Wheat; Largest producer states of Sugarcane, Tea, Coffee, Rubber, Cotton, and Jute.
  • Minerals & Energy: Iron ore mines, Coal mines, Oil fields, and Power plants (Thermal & Nuclear).
  • Manufacturing Industries: Cotton textile, Iron and Steel plants, Software technology parks.
  • Lifelines of National Economy: Major sea ports and International airports.

5. Internal Assessment Guidelines (20 Marks)

  • Periodic Assessment (5 Marks): Pen & Paper Tests.
  • Multiple Assessment (5 Marks): Assessed through the Interdisciplinary Project (Integrating History Ch-3, Geography Ch-7, and Economics Ch-4). Modes include quizzes, debates, role plays, group discussions, etc.
  • Subject Enrichment Activity (5 Marks): Project work on Consumer Rights OR Social Issues OR Sustainable Development.
  • Portfolio (5 Marks): Classwork, assignments, reflections, journals, and overall subject achievements throughout the year.
